Special called meeting: The Liberty County Board of Assessors will host a special called board meeting on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. at the conference room of the Board located in the Courthouse annex 112 N Main Street, first floor Suite 1102. Hinesville Kiwanis Club formation meeting will be held at 6p.m. on Oct.28 at the Fairfield Inn & Suites – Meeting Room, 1494 East Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville. Dress casual. The meeting is to discuss the organization of a new Kiwanis Club of Hinesville and to introduce Kiwanis and the Georgia District to the Hinesville community of families and businesses. Walthourville cops and goblins: Walthourville’s Police Department will host Cops and Goblins at Walthourville Police department on Oct. 29, from 6pm to 8pm. There will be free candy for all the children. Admission is free for all. Bring the entire family. It will be held at the Walthourville Police Department 192 Talmadge Rd B in Walthourville, GA. Follow the event details on Walthourville Police department Facebook. The police station will be decorated giving the children a safe environment to Trick or Treat. “It is our privilege to protect, serve and work in the community for all of you.” Said WPD Chief Al Hagan.

Walthourville Meat Market Community Day: The owners of the Walthourville Meat Market are hosting an event to thank the community for the continued support of their store. On Oct. 30, from noon until 5 p.m. they will be serving free hamburgers and hotdogs. They will have other vendors at the event and offer face painting and bounce houses for the kids. They are located at 5715 W Oglethorpe Highway in Walthourville.

Seventh annual Hinesville Cars and Coffee trunk or treat will be held from 6-9 p.m. in the parking lot of the Dunkin Donuts at 541 W Oglethorpe Highway in Hinesville. Free trunk or- treating for the kids. Free registration for the cars. Cars are eligible for top prizes. Come dressed in your favorite costumes.

The Christian Women’s Ministry of Hinesville First United Methodist Church will hold a yard sale Saturday, Oct. 30, from 8 am – 2 pm in the colonnade area between the church buildings, located on 203 N. Main Street. A variety of items will be offered for sale ranging from household good and pictures to children’s clothing, shoes and toys. All proceeds go to fund CWM missions projects.

Gary Dodd Memorial Golf Tournament Sponsored by McDonald’s and Liberty Chrysler/Jeep/Ram and the Veterans Memorial Walk at Bryant Commons Park, the Gary Dodd Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at the Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville. The tournament will feature a Halloween theme and prizes will be awarded for best team themed costumes, best decorated golf cart and best individual costume. Four-person scramble. Team fee is $200. Cash prizes for first, second and third place teams.
