The Liberty County Commission reviewed the cost of area projects being funded by tax dollars collected under SPLOST 4, as well as revenue collection to date.

Road projects were afforded the largest distribution under SPLOST 4, which between April 2004 and March 2009 collected a total of $37.4 million. According to county finance manager Kim McGlothlin, SPLOST 4 was originally budgeted to bring in $29 million.

Of these collected funds, the largest dollar amount — $10 million — was designated to address road projects among county municipalities, districts, the development authority and federal projects.
