Crash of March 15, has one fatality

As a result of the injuries sustained from a three car accident that occurred on March 15, one person has died from their injuries, two others as still being treated, one was released.

According to Hinesville Police Department Traffic Accident Investigator, Lt. Scott Hensler, Deandra Williams, 35 died from her injuries following the accident at the intersection of East Oglethorpe and Court Street.

 

Hensler said Williams who was driving a 2010 Mazda 3i with her 14-year-old son. She was traveling eastbound around 7:50 a.m. and for reasons yet known, she drove into oncoming traffic. Williams first struck a 2017 Chevy Malibu head on. The driver Limayri Cruz. Cruz was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville and was treated and later released.

 

Williams continued on and stuck a second vehicle, a 2015 Ford Escape, head on which was being driven by Nina Seals, 23 of Brunswick. Seals was transported by emergency medical helicopter to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah where she is still being treated for her injuries.

 

William’s son whose name has not been released was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

 

Williams was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. 

 

The accident remains under investigation by Hinesville Police Department Traffic Investigator, Joseph Gregory.
