A house fire Monday afternoon at 93 Dunlevie Road in Allenhurst has left a homeowner temporarily displaced.
According to Walthourville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief Anthony Burns, when firefighters arrived heavy smoke was seen coming from a vent located on the roof and there was fire and smoke on an exterior wall in the rear of the single story brick home. Burns said firefighters arrived a few minutes after being dispatched to the home at 6:27 p.m. and quickly put out the fire out saving the home. The cause of the fire is undetermined. The Red Cross was not called; the homeowner will be staying with relatives. Units from Hinesville, and Liberty County Fire Services also responded to provide mutual aid.
