Liberty County Sheriff’s deputies have made an arrest from a Monday night shooting incident.

Ahmad Williams was arrested after deputies conducted a search warrant of a home on Talmadge Road on Tuesday afternoon, seizing a firearm and other items believed to be relevant to the investigation.

On Monday night around 11:30, 911 dispatch received a report of shots being fired into a residence in the 5000 block of West Oglethorpe Highway.

Officers with the Walthourville Police Department and Liberty County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. Liberty County Criminal Investigation Division detectives were called to the location and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The investigation determined that the incident followed a verbal altercation involving the victim and several individuals. Investigators determined that the residence had been struck by gunfire at least six times. Multiple rounds entered through the front door of the home, and two rounds traveled completely through the residence and entered a neighboring home.

Williams was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and criminal damage to property.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as detectives continue to review evidence and information related to the incident.
