The Bradwell Institute Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps Program held its 18th annual commissioning/promotion ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 16, in the JROTC multi-purpose room. Cadet leaders for the 2010-11 school year were installed. Sgt. Maj. Julio Baez, the sergeant major for 6th Brigade, Cadet Command, was the guest speaker. He also administered the oath of office to the cadets.
The festivities also included a pinning ceremony for the 31 officers and top five non-commissioned officers who will lead the 260 cadet battalion this year. Tiger Battalion Command Sgt. Maj. Cody Smith presented the commander’s saber to new Tiger Battalion Commander Cadet LTC Christopher Payne. Attendees also participated in a cake-cutting ceremony.
BI Principal Scott Carrier gave the closing remarks. A reception, catered by the Family, Career and Consumer Leaders of America, followed.
