Computer camps at AASU

The Armstrong Atlantic State University Educational Technology Training Center will offer three creative computer summer camps for children grades 4th through 8th. All camp instructors are certified teachers. The camps will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday-Friday, in University Hall 125 on the Armstrong campus, 11935 Abercorn Street.

The schedule is as follows:

June 20 - 24: Let the Games Begin (Grades 6th - 8th)
Children can learn the basics of creating 3D animations, computer games, and digital stories using a free programming language called Alice.

July 11 - 15: Hooray for Hollywood (Grades 6th - 8th)
The camp will teach the basics of creating digital movies, digital photographs, and podcasts.

July 25 - 29: Cool Tools for Kids (Grades 4th - 6th)
Children can learn the basics of creating podcasts, digital photographs, Websites, animations and digital stories.

Campers need to pack a lunch each day or they may purchase lunch in the dining hall on the Armstrong campus. The cost of $150 per camp includes snacks.
