Credit union helps teachers refurbish their classrooms

Interstate Credit Union has announced the winners of their fifth annual Extreme Makeover: Classroom Edition Contest.

“We were proud to present each of these five teachers with a check for $500 to improve their classroom,” Stacie Branch, Interstate Credit Union’s  CEO,  said. “They will use the funds to create an ideal learning environment for their students”.

2016 winners are:

Liberty County: Celeste Nathan at Button Gwinnett Elementary

Long County: Shelby Wells at Smiley Elementary

Wayne County: Tiffany Pye  and Jesup Elementary

Appling County: Kayla Mann at Fourth District Elementary

Jeff Davis County: Sarah Beth Swain at Jeff Davis High School

Each year, the credit union invites pre-K through 12th grade teachers from those counties to participate in the contest. Bacon

County teachers are also eligible, but none applied this year.
