FBLA sponsors pageant at Walker

Walker Middle School’s Future Business Leaders of America sponsored the miss/junior miss pageant Oct. 6 at the school. This was the fourth year that FBLA sponsored the pageant. All proceeds went to the FBLA club to help send students to compete in region and state competitions.
Nine fourth- and fifth-graders competed for the title of Junior Miss Walker Middle School, which went to Amber Holland.
Jessica Garrason, Emma Stapleton and Sophie Cooper were named the first, second and third runners-up, respectively.
Meanwhile, Kasha Anderson won the award for the most sponsors and was named the people’s choice princess. Aubree Strickland won the award for best dress.
In the miss division, 24 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders competed for the title. Ashley Middleton was named Miss Walker Middle School, while Aleigha Rowan was named the people’s choice princess in the miss division. Deliza Vasquez was the first runner-up in the miss division, Elizabeth Coble was the second runner-up and Hannah Gordon won the awards for best dress and third runner-up. Iris Worthy won the award for having the most sponsors.
