Field trip focuses on Savannah history

Can you think of an adventurous way for a group of second-graders to learn about Georgia history? How about a trolley tour of historic Savannah and a walk on the riverfront.
Students from Joseph Martin Elementary got a chance to compare the life of the Creek and Cherokee Indians of the past to modern Georgians. They heard stories about Tomochichi, James Oglethorpe, Mary Musgrove and more on a field trip that covered second-grade standards on Georgia history.
