FPCA students place in literary contests

First Presbyterian Christian Academy's Literary Team won several honors, including a first place, in its first competition since it was organized by the Fine Arts Director Shannon Hickey.
During the competition held in Swainsboro a number of students excelled in individual and group categories.
Patrick Steele earned a first place ranking in the spelling competition. He will represent the school and region on March 13 at the state tournament in Valdosta.
Tim Ashman took third place honors in National Extemporaneous Speaking and Josh Rodgers nailed down a third place win in the International Extemporaneous Speaking category. Andrew Walden placed fifth overall in Humorous Oral Interpretation.
Samantha Haas and Colin Williams both received fourth place rankings in Argumentative Essay. Garret Crissman placed sixth in Personal Essay.
In vocal competition, Alyson Hamilton placed fourth in Girl's Solo, Jose Martinez received a fifth place in Boy's Solo and Sarah Dryden, Taylor Nold and Alyson Hamilton received a fifth place ranking in Girl's Trio.
