Higgason honored for volunteer efforts

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kelsey Higgason, a 2014 Long County High School graduate, recently was named a winner in Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program.Higgason earned a 3.9 grade-point average while taking courses such as Advanced Placement literature, AP chemistry and AP biology. She also juggled extracurricular activities, such as soccer, cross-country and being on the yearbook staff. She volunteered more than 150 hours last year with an animal shelter, foster children and the United Way.
