The Liberty County High School “Paws for a Cause” students are organizing canned food drives, raising funds for Backpack Buddies and conducting many other projects that will benefit local charities this year. The United Way, Ronald McDonald House, Susan G. Komen Foundation and Manna House are some of the nonprofit associations that have benefited from the students’ work.

One of the group’s fall projects was scheduled to be trick-or-treating for Manna House. On Tuesday, Oct. 30, students were to dress in costume and trick-or-treat in local neighborhoods for canned goods. All proceeds were to go to Manna House.

Another fall event sponsored by Paws for a Cause will be an indoor yard sale starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the LCHS cafeteria. Tables for the sale can be reserved for $25. For more information, call Dawn Rowe at 368-6966 or email drowe@liberty.k12.ga.us.
