During one of the first meetings of the year for fourth-grade student-council members at Joseph Martin Elementary, Elizabeth Rogers, Hannah Smith and Devi Patel wanted to start a food drive for animals called “Chow for Chihuahuas.”

In order to promote their cause, they created and hung posters around the school and made a commercial that was played during the morning announcements.

A free ticket to JME’s Fall Festival was given out for each item given.

Liberty Humane Shelter President Sandra Frye collected the items.
