ATHENS (AP) - U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston will speak at the University of Georgia graduation ceremony next month.
UGA announced the spring commencement speakers Thursday. Kingston, a Republican from Savannah, graduated from UGA in 1978 with a degree in economics.
Kingston grew up in Athens with his father a longtime UGA faculty member. Kingston is serving his ninth term in Congress.
Commencement is May 9 at 9:30 a.m. in Sanford Stadium.
Stan Collender, a managing director at Qorvis Communications, will speak for the ceremony for master's and doctoral students. That ceremony is May 9 at 2:30 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum.
