The Lewis Frasier Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society recently was recognized by the Kiwanis/Casa 5K committee for its help during the first annual Kiwanis/CASA 5K Run for Our Future on Sept. 29.
Members of the group served as motivators along the route and worked the water station and turn-around point. All NJHS members must perform community service, including two group service projects and six individual hours. Other service projects this year include Wreaths for Warrior Walk — the group pledged to raise $3,250 — and the Savannah Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon, which raises money for cancer research.
