Two teams from Lewis Frasier Middle School’s Odyssey of the Mind program placed second Feb. 25 in their respective categories at the regional tournament Savannah.
Both teams will represent Hinesville in the state finals April 14 in Columbus.
Team “Odyssey Angels” wrote and acted a dramatic script about the importance of helping people.  They also created their own sets and costumes.  The team members are Kyle Corrigan, Kaitlyn Newman, Khristian Cummings, Caleb Sanker, Nate Johns and Jordan Graham.
Team “Ooh-Motional Vehicle” designed and built a vehicle that can carry a person and also has a “personality.”  It was staged as a living car that can show emotions. It also converted into a hovercraft.  The team members are Logan Lee, Fredrick Stoner, Tjorn Hyatt, Justin Carryl, Johnathan Corrigan and Travon Walker.
The team coaches are teachers Christine Capps and Kari Bruce.  They were proud of the hard work and creativity that the teams put into their projects.
“It’s great to see how far they have come.  I’m proud that they are going to State and I hope they can go on to the World Competition,” Bruce said.
“This is my fifth year coaching Odyssey at Lewis Frasier, and they just keep get-
ting better and better,” Capps said.  “Last year, we had one team go to state; now both are going. My hope is that more schools in the county will pick up the program, and we’ll have even more Hinesville students competing.”
