The summer reading program at Live Oak Public Libraries, including the Liberty Branch in Hinesville and Midway-Riceboro Branch in Midway, kick off the summer reading program Monday.
The program lets young readers compete for prizes and recognition.
Both branch libraries have set parties for Monday; Liberty’s at 11 a.m. and Midway-Riceboro’s at 3 p.m. The Hinesville branch is on Memorial Drive and Midway’s is between Martin Road and Highway 84.
There will be games, crafts and more.
Other events at the libraries for youth over the summer include:
• Tree Tots Story Time at 10:30 a.m. June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 at the Liberty Branch. There will be stories, music and more.
• Ronald McDonald will meet with kids at the Liberty Branch at 3 p.m. June 4.
• Beading for Teens at 3 p.m. June 6 at the Liberty Branch. Teens 12 and older will make items to wear and share.
