Liberty Co. student wins Plum Creek scholarship

Plum Creek has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Chanelle Craig of Hinesville.

Plum Creek, a corporate land development company, awards scholarships to high-school seniors who plan to continue their education. The scholarships recognize students who demonstrate academic excellence, involvement in school and community, and overall achievement throughout high school.

Craig is graduating from Bradwell Institute and plans to attend Duke University in Durham, N.C., in the fall. While in high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society, the Beta Club, the student council and the varsity cheerleading team. She is the daughter of Sherri and David Craig.

This year, Plum Creek awarded 117 scholarships to high-school seniors around the country totaling $141,000. In Georgia, 10 students received scholarships.
