Liberty County native Olivia Brandie James was inducted into the Beta Xi Tau Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Savannah Technical College on April 26.
James, an accounting major, is the daughter of the late Isaiah and Rachel James of Midway.
Established in 1918 by two-year college presidents, Phi Theta Kappa is the oldest honor society serving two-year colleges around the world. The society recognizes and encourages the academic achievements of two-year college students and provides opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming.
Students must rank in the top 20 percent of their class to be invited to join Phi Theta Kappa and must maintain high academic standing during their enrollment in the two-year college.
