Accelerated Reader by the numbers

• 92: Number of students honored for reaching or exceeding reading goals.
• 85: School’s percentage point goal for STAR tests.
• 10: Number of students who were specially recognized for exceeding their point goals.
Ninety-two students at Liberty Elementary School were recently honored for achieving or exceeding their individual Accelerated Reader (AR) goals.
Each grading period, LES students take a STAR test and set schoolwide and individual AR goals.
The schoolwide goal is 85 percent correct. The individual goals are set for points earned. Students are challenged according to their individual reading abilities.
Students who reached the schoolwide goal and their individual-point goals received an invitation to a “Warm Up to Reading” event from Mandy, Liberty Elementary’s “reading dog.”
They were treated to a cup of cocoa in their own mugs, a gift bag of treats, cookies and a movie. Ten students received special recognition for exceeding their point goals.
