DALLAS, Texas — Sandy Jones, director of curriculum and professional learning for Liberty County Schools, has been accepted into the National Staff Development Council Academy for Staff Developers, a learning experience aimed at improving the quality of teaching and learning in all schools.
Jones joins 1,400 other educators who have completed the two and a half-year experience during the past 22 years.
In addition, Jones joins 70 educators nationwide and from Canada who have been selected as members of this year’s class. They have already begun work and will convene for the first time in Bosto in July in association with NSDC’s summer conference.
“The academy focuses on developing a deep understanding of professional learning with the intention of impacting how academy
graduates influence professional learning within their own organizations,’’ said Joellen Killion, NSDC’s deputy executive director and leader of the NSDC Academy.
Academy members include personnel from local, state and national educational agencies, as well as university faculty, independent staff development providers and leaders from nonprofit educational organizations from throughout the United States and Canada.
