Liberty graduate earns top honors at BPC

MOUNT VERNON — Brewton-Parker College student Brandon Whitmore of Midway was recognized during Honor’s Day Chapel on May 1 in Saliba Chapel on the Mount Vernon campus.

The 2011 Liberty County High School graduate received the math award from Forrest Rich, professor from the division of arts and sciences.

Brewton-Parker is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia.

Young honored by Alabama State

Shauncy L. Young of Hinesville was recognized during Alabama State University’s 2012 Honors Convocation.

The program recognizes regularly admitted undergraduate students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their academic pursuits. In general, students must have completed at least 15 semester hours of core courses at ASU with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better to qualify for recognition.
