Long County High School students recently planted a tree at the school to commemorate Georgia Arbor Day.
The tree was given to the students by Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission Supervisors Roger Houston and Cecil Stafford, District Conservationist Rahn Milligan and Georgia Forestry Commission Forester Mark McClelland.
The students also learned about the environmental importance of trees and the history of Arbor Day. Participating students included officers of the Future Farmers of America, forestry students and the high school’s Pre-K class.
