Walker Middle School teacher Laurie Thornton was presented with $500 from Interstate Credit Union on Aug. 1 to improve her classroom. Fennell is one of the four winners for Interstate Credit Union’s Extreme Classroom Makeover.

“Many teachers often use their own money to supply their classroom. This contest is just one of many ways we help our local educators save money,” said Sarah Tomberlin, Interstate Credit Union’s business development officer. “We also offer our educator’s account, which also saves teachers a substantial amount of money every year.”
