Long County High School hosted its annual Blue Tide Drum-Line Competition on May 2. Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School from South Carolina took home the first-place trophy, and Beaufort High School, also from South Carolina, was second. Cook High School of Adel was third, and Groves High School was fourth.Long County High School drum-line director Jason McElveen said that this year’s event drew more than 500 people in attendance with bands participating from all over the area.
