Midway Middle honors veterans

The Midway Middle school parental Involvement committee hosted a Veterans Day breakfast on Tuesday, Nov. 10, in recognition of retired, deployed and active duty military parents.
The ceremony started at 9 a.m. with the Liberty County High School JROTC color guard posting the colors and leading in the Pledge of Allegiance. The group was welcomed by the Principal Debra Frazier. Glenda Layton taled about the reason for the occasion and the MMS band performed.
A dedication was written and read by Dominique Ceniceros, a student who is a child of one of the soldiers. The speaker was Midway Middle’s own assistant principal, Maj. (ret.) Thomas Willoughby.
The closing and recognitions were done by parent coordinator Teresa Bacon. Among those recognized were the staff members of Midway Middle who retired and or served active duty in the military.
