The American Military Retirees Association recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Ashley N. Gilmore.
In the fall, Gilmore plans to study family and consumer sciences and child and family development at the University of Georgia in Athens.
In 2011, through the Sgt. Maj. Douglas R. Drum Memorial Scholarship program, AMRA awarded scholarships totaling $35,000 to AMRA members, their spouses, dependent children or grandchildren for undergraduate study at two- or four-year accredited, degree-granting institutions. Scholarship recipients must be sponsored by an AMRA member.
The 2012 scholarship information package will be available from AMRA national headquarters by Oct. 1 or online at the AMRA website, www.amra1973.org.
