Students and faculty at Liberty Elementary started the New Year with several motivational programs.
On their second workday, teachers attended an in-service led by behavior specialist Aimee Deen, who offered teachers ideas and strategies for implementing preventive discipline. She said the methods give teachers positive ways of handling behaviors, in turn giving them more time to teach.
On Thursday, parents, students and staff were treated to motivational sessions by Keith Brown, who gave students tips for succeeding in school and in life. His motto, “Heads up! Pants up! Grades up!” was to give students a goal for the second semester of this school year.
