Two members of the Liberty County Pre-K Center faculty, Diane L. Sanker, curriculum coordinator/instructional technology specialist, and Dr. Betty Cashon, special education teacher, were among the 100-plus workshop presenters at the recent Bright Beginnings/Promising Futures 2007 Georgia Early Learning Conference in Atlanta.
The theme of the conference was “Preparing Georgia’s Children to Succeed.”
Sanker gave presentations on “How to Create a Print Rich Environment” and “How to Teach and Tickle a Pre-K Learning Environment using Technology.”
Cashon’s presentations were “Selecting Classroom Materials to Teach Skills and Concepts from Basic to Advanced” and “Pre-K Special Education as Partners with Regular Education: Not that Different.”
The purpose of the conference was to re-energize and prepare teachers to go back to their communities better equipped to work with children and to provide high quality early learning experiences.
