BRUNSWICK — The state Board of Regents has approved $2 million in renovations for the College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick.

The board included $2 million for the work in its 2014 capital budget request for the renovation the school's Academic Commons South building.

The Florida Times-Union reports (http://bit.ly/NjrHPg) that the Academic Commons South building is one of three aligned around three sides of a courtyard that was once the focal point of the campus.

The project is among the regent's $259.8 million capital budget. The budget will go before the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget for review before Gov. Nathan Deal makes recommendations to the General Assembly when it begins its legislative session in January.
