LUDOWICI -- As students are preparing for the upcoming CRCT, Smiley Elementary School Principal SandyJones hosted a breakfast for 50 students.
The breakfast was for 30 students who had high scores and 20 students who were most improved. These students were recognized for their performance on practice CRCTs given to all third graders.
Students scoring 90 and above on the first test and students improving at least 20 points on the second test were treated to a breakfast of doughnuts, McMuffins and orange juice.
The students also created questions for a game of "Are You Smarter than a Third Grader?" Jones and other teachers were contestants.
"It is very important for students to be rewarded for their successes. At Smiley Elementary, teachers and staff try very hard to motivate students to do their best," Jones said. "I am proud of all students' efforts on the practice CRCT.
