Story time, computers classes at libraries

The Live Oak Public Library’s Liberty branch will offer a variety of activities for children this fall. The upcoming events and programs will include:
• Preschool story time at 10:30 a.m. every Monday for children ages 3-4. Stop by for stories, songs and more.
• Tree tots story time at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday for children ages 1-2.
• Computer classes: introduction to Microsoft Word at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.
• Computer practice sessions at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 and Oct. 22.
• Job skills development workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. This mini-seminar will teach participants about library resources that will help them improve interviewing skills, expand job searching and write better resumes and cover letters. To register, call the library at 368-4003.
• Fall family fun hour is at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Liberty branch, and at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Midway branch.
The event features autumn games and a crayon-melting craft for ages 4 and older.
• “Geek the Library” poster contest is at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Liberty Branch. Create your own “Geek the Library” poster telling us what you enjoy.  For ages 13 and older. To register, call 368-4003.
