Student earns $25,000 scholarship

Liberty County High School alumnus Donnie Pulliam recently was selected as a “Rising Star” by the United Negro College Fund and received a $25,000 scholarship.

Pulliam was selected for the award based on his academic achievements, community service and extracurricular activities. He and other recipients were honored during “An Evening with the Stars” ceremony in Atlanta. During his acceptance speech, Pulliam thanked the faculty and staff at LCHS. The broadcast of the ceremony will air at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 6, on WTGS.

Pulliam is a sophomore political-science major at Morehouse College and a 2013 honor graduate of LCHS. His parents are James and Monica Robertson-Payno of Midway.
