SAVANNAH — A group of Savannah Technical College staff members will travel to Atlanta next month to receive the Governor’s Commendation for Excellence in Customer Service. The Liberty Campus Student Success Team was selected from among 240 nominees representing 39 state agencies.
In thanking the team and announcing the winner to the campus, STC President Dr. Kathy Love said, “This award verifies that a customer service mindset goes a long way toward making our customers feel welcome and makes their college experience a pleasant one.”
“This is quite an honor for us,” said Liberty Campus Director Terrie Oliver. “We all place great value in the quality of customer service we deliver and for it to be recognized by others is especially nice.”
The group will be recognized at a ceremony July 23 in Atlanta and will have a photograph taken with Gov. Sonny Perdue.
The Student Success Team works with students for admission, financial aid, registration and retention.
Savannah Tech is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia and serves 4,700 students each quarter with campuses in Savannah, Effingham and Liberty counties. The Liberty Campus, on Airport Road in Hinesville, enrolls approximately 700 students each quarter and also operates an office in the Army Education Center on post at Fort Stewart.
