Joseph Martin Elementary School has implemented a staff and student mentor program this school year called the PAL Program. It pairs volunteer staff members with specific students with the goal of providing extra support to the students. Staff members  serve as PALs by monitoring academic progress and reinforcing the successes of their students. The PAL staff and students were recently treated to a pizza party, and students received free JME T-shirts courtesy of a grant.
