The Walker Middle School Future Business Leaders of America club attended the national FBLA leadership conference from June 28-July 1 in Orlando, Fla. All Walker Middle FBLA students who placed first through 20th at the state-level competition were invited to the two-day national event, which featured workshops to help students become leaders.
At the end of the conference, students attended a graduation ceremony and received certificates of completion.
The Walker students also competed in national areas of testing, including FBLA concepts, business math, computer concepts and personal finance.
Walker Middle School was one of two middle schools in Georgia to be recognized for outstanding community service and activities.
After attending the conference, the students spent a day at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. In addition, coach Dennis Pattison, the trip chaperone and a parent, helped the club get discounted tickets to Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum.
The students who went on the FBLA trip said they had a great time and gained knowledge that will help them be successful in the future.
