During December, Walker Middle School FBLA members were busy with various community service projects and leadership training. The club held its first Christmas toy drive, which was successful. The club collected 120 new toys to donate to children in the school.
On Dec. 15, Walker Middle School welcomed a guest speaker from Rep. Jack Kingston’s office. Brooke Floyd spoke to the club about leadership opportunities, trips, scholarships and career information. After her speech, the club traveled to Coastal Manor Nursing Home to visit with the residents. Every resident received a Christmas card from the club, and the club sang about 10 Christmas carols to residents. To finish the night, FBLA members and parents attended the third annual Chili’s Christmas social. They were joined by the Lewis Frasier FBLA club for this year’s connecting chapters project. More than 100 students and parents attended the event.
