Election Day has ended and the votes are still being tallied. While we wait to see who won the race for President of the United States there were also several candidates running for the State Senate to fill in the unexpired term of Johnny Isakson. Another contested Senate race is between Republican David Purdue, Libertarian Shane Hazel and Democrat John Ossoff.

Georgians were also choosing new Public Service Commissioners and the U.S. Representative contested race between Earl Buddy Carter and Joyce Griggs.

Locally a few candidates were on the ballot for the City of Midway Council seat vacated by Gerald Lee and people were voting either for or against the E-Commerce Referendum. 

In Long County Emmett Patterson and Rondy C Bacon were both running for County Coroner position.
