June blood drives
Blood donors needed. The American Red Cross is reporting that the blood supply is very strained right now. They will be hosting several blood drives in Hinesville throughout the month of June.
June 17: from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at USO on Fort Stewart
June 24: from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Hinesville library

First Tiger basketball fundraiser golf tournament
The First Tiger basketball fundraiser golf tournament will be held at Cherokee Rose Country Club June 19. The four-man scramble costs $60 per person or $240 per team. Registration is from 12:30 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. Lunch will be provided at 12:45 p.m. with a shot gun starts at 2 p.m. Hole Sponsorships available for $50. This tournament is to help fund the BI Tigers boys’ basketball team. To register call 912-306-9814. Prizes will be awarded.

National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) is observed every year on June 27. The Coastal Health District will hold several HIV testing events throughout the month of June to bring awareness to NHTD and the importance of knowing your status. In Liberty County testing is from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 23 at Diversity Health Center, 303 Fraser Dr., Hinesville. All testing is free and confidential, and results will be available in about one minute. A follow-up visit will be scheduled for anyone who tests positive, and counseling will be made available to those individuals.

BI hosting USTA Tennis camp
Bradwell Institute is hosting its first USTA Tennis camp in July but the deadline to register is June 28. The camp is from Monday- Thursdays and is open to ages 5-17. Space is limited to the first 20 campers who register. Participants will receive 10 hours of instruction by an insured PTR professional and assisted by BI Tennis coach Ken Scharnagl. Cost is $75 and tennis rackets will be provided to those who need one. Camp starts July 19 at the BI tennis courts at 100 Pafford Street. Daily schedule includes an 8:30 a.m. check in, a warm-up at 8:45 a.m. followed by drills and competitions. Deadline to register in June 28. Annual Back-to-school rally
the 23rd Annual Back to School Rally hosted by Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc. G.A.N.G. God’s Anointed Now Generation is a non-profit youth and community organization. The rally will be held on Saturday, July 10, at 10 a.m. at Midway Middle School 425 Edgewater Drive, Midway, GA. 31320. The rally will be Live Streaming along with a Resource Drive Thru. Free school supplies, health checks, Live entertainment, refreshments, and much more. Setup time is on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. the day of the event. All stations must be setup and ready to go by 9:30 a.m. There will be a live stream program with community leaders. We will follow the guidelines of the CDC: Social distancing, wearing mask, gloves, and the constant use of hand sanitizers. You may contact Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc. for a booth space. You will need a table, folding chair, and popup tent for those not station under the ramp cover. The deadline to register is June 18. There is no charge for a booth space.
