An extreme cold warning is in effect from Saturday 7 p.m. to Sunday 12 noon.

Dangerously cold wind chills into the single digits are expected, according to the National Weather Service. Frostbite and hypothermia could occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes. The low is forecast to be 18 degrees and wind chills could sink as low as 7.

The NWS advises to dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside and to keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Overnight lows Sunday and Monday are expected to be in the 20s.
