The Underwoods, along with other volunteers, are part of the Facebook group Parents Involved in Liberty County Schools, which holds a drawing every nine weeks to pick students who show academic excellence and reward them with $25 gift cards.

Parents who don’t just talk the talk when it comes to supporting local education have awarded another eight students gift cards for their academic work, according to a press release.

The Parents Involved in Liberty County Schools Facebook group has a drawing every nine weeks and picks students that show Academic excellence in school and has made the A or AB Honor Roll for the semester.

To enter the drawing all parents/guardians have to do is post their child’s report card on the page each nine weeks for a chance to win!

“My wife Wendy Underwood and I started the drawings to give all students within our Liberty County School System an opportunity to win a $25 Walmart or Visa/Mastercard for having academic excellence in school,” Patrick Underwood said.

“We wanted to simply encourage all students to study hard and know that someone is always watching and supporting their efforts in school, and we wanted students across our district to know no matter what grade their in (K-12) or whether their a special needs students, everyone has a  chance to win,” he continued. “ We always try select a special needs student, a student in elementary, middle, and high school to be transparent for our students. As the page continues to grow so will our efforts and support for our students.”

The Underwoods thanked partners such as Tina Ellis, “who has donated without hestitation every semester since began this journey,” and sponsors such as KIngs of Steem, Imprint, Inc., and parents such as Mr. and Mrs. Simon Steele, Leann Jonneshia, Crystal Hill Perry and “former student winners that wanted to pay it forward and give another deserving student a chance to win.”

“We started out with awarding one student and because of kind hearts of other parents and businesses we can now award several students each semester. Anyone wishing to invest in our youth and make a donation may contact us via email underwood6180@gmail.com or through Facebook messanger or at 912-432-3364. We thank you all in advance.”
