A family of four have been displaced after a fire early this morning damaged their home in the 1300 block of Hillview Circle.
According to Hinesville Fire Department Public Information Officer, Alex Mason, the Hinesville Fire Department was dispatched to the fire call shortly after 10 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy flames and smoke coming from the rear of the home. Mason said prior to the fire department’s arrival, a passerby had spotted the smoke and fire was able to alert the occupants of the home. The residents were able to exit the safely.
Mason said the firefighters attacked the fire intensively from the inside of the home and were able to extinguish the fire quickly.
The origin of the fire is under investigation but it does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
The Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the family.
