After slamming Florida with floods, tropical storm Fay washed through Hinesville on Friday leaving the city with minimal damage.
Despite a few tornado warnings, the storm never escalated into more than a constant stream of rain and wind.

“It’s good news,” said Hodges. “It’s a great thing.”
Similarly, the OMI-Department of Public Works in Hinesville, said that as of late Friday afternoon they hadn’t received any emergency flooding reports.
Rainfall reports for the area ranged from 3 inches in the Hinesville area to as much as 7 in the Isle of Wight area.
