Members of the Liberty County High School and Bradwell Institute FFA chapters recently competed in the Area 6 Floral Design Career Development Event on October 26, held at Ware County High School.

This CDE simulates real-world activities used by the floral industry to assess the knowledge and skill of students in floral design. Students have 30 minutes to create a design using specific flowers and a given scenario. Students must also identify 25 floral products and senior contestants (10th-12th grade) must complete a 25-question exam.

The top two in each division advance to the state competition. Clark will be representing Area 6 at the State Floral Design Career Development Event in December at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton.

“We are just excited and proud to see our students excelling at skills they enjoy which can turn out to be good paying careers for them in the future,” Liberty County Superintendent Dr. Franklin Perry said.

The school system offered a special thank you to Bradwell Institute FFA advisor Dr. Lindsey Guyett and Liberty County High FFA advisor Dr. Jeci Bohannon for their instruction and to local florists from Florabelle Flowers and Gifts and Town & Country Florist for their support of Liberty County Schools’ students.
