Leadership Southeast Georgia (LSEGA) introduces the individuals who make up its class of 2024. Representing various industries and communities across 10 coastal counties, these 30 leaders have been selected for their commitment to effective and inclusive leadership.
Those chosen from Liberty and Long counties are:
• Matt Campbell, CEO, Georgia Matters, LLC, Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Glynn, Liberty, and McIntosh counties
• Billy Joe Nelson, Jr., District Attorney, Atlantic Judicial Circuit, Bryan, Liberty, Long, and McIntosh counties • Dr. Olivia Penrod, Education Services Officer, Fort Stewart/ Hunter Army Airfield, Chatham and Liberty counties
• Desiree Riley, Office Administrator, Liberty County Chamber of Commerce, Liberty County
• Leigh Smiley, Broker, Coldwell Banker, Liberty County From February to June 2024, the Class of 2024 will participate in a comprehensive five-month curriculum. During this time, they will delve into regional issues such as natural resources, healthcare, education, economic development, and transportation. Through sessions held in different counties, they will gain firsthand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing the region.
The program’s ultimate goal is to foster collaboration, develop leadership skills, and elevate Southeast Georgia as a whole.
