Flu vaccines available at Liberty, Long health departments

Flu vaccinations are now available at the Liberty County Health Department for the 2024-2025 respiratory virus season. The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone over 6 months of age, and high-dose flu vaccine options are available for seniors aged 65 and up.

Walk-ins are welcome for flu and COVID vaccines at the Liberty County Health Department. Most people will have no out-of-pocket cost for vaccination. Many health insurance plans are accepted, and there are no-cost options for individuals without health insurance.

Flu vaccinations are now available at the Long County Health Department by appointment. The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone over six months of age, and high-dose flu vaccine options are available for seniors aged 65 and up.

You can schedule an appointment for your annual flu shot at the Long County Health Department by calling 912-545-2107. Most people will have no out-of-pocket cost for vaccination. Many health insurance plans are accepted, and there are no-cost options for individuals without health insurance. 

Vaccination is particularly important for those at high risk of complications from flu, including adults 65 and older, children younger than 5, pregnant women, people with weakened immune systems, and people with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease.

Flu shots and COVID shots can be given at the same appointment, if desired. Shipments of the updated COVID vaccine for the 2024-2025 respiratory virus season have been limited, but additional shipments are expected in the coming weeks.
