The Long County Blue Tide Rocket League team Flying Tide suffered their second straight loss of the season when they matched up with North Paulding on Thursday, October 15. It was a competitive game however as three of the four matches went to sudden death overtime.
The first game saw Hunter Rhoden score two goals, including the winning goal in overtime. That overtime would not have happened without Louby Richard’s big save right at the buzzer.
After the 3-2 win in the first game, the Tide were not able to get another victory, but the next three games were highly competitive.
Landen Pendleton scored a hat trick and had the Tide with a 3-2 lead in the final 30 seconds before the Wolfpack tied the game and won it 4-3 in sudden death.
The third game saw the Wolfpack jump out to a 3-1 lead and although Rhoden scored twice to put the Tide within one goal, they could not get back in the game as they fell 4-2 to fall behind 2-1 in the match.
Rhoden and Pendleton each scored a goal in the fourth game, but again another sudden death game saw the Wolfpack take the victory 3-2.
The Flying Tide fall to 2-2 on the season.
