Food Lion Opens New Jesup, Ga., Store
New Location Open Daily from 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.

SALISBURY, N.C. – Starting Wednesday, March 24, neighbors in Alma, Ga., can nourish their families at their new local Food Lion located at 955 S. 1st St., Jesup, GA 31545. The new store will have approximately 75 associates and serve customers daily from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Food Lion recently completed the acquisition of this location, which was formerly a Harveys Supermarket, after announcing its plans last year to acquire 62 BI-LO/Harveys Supermarkets across the Carolinas and Georgia<>.

In addition to its longstanding heritage of low prices, Food Lion also makes shopping easy and affordable for customers through its MVP loyalty program, its award-winning personalized Shop & Earn monthly rewards offers and with weekly promotions, hot sales, and everyday low prices.

“I am extremely excited to welcome neighbors into their new Jesup Food Lion,” said Russ Hutcheson, store manager of the new Food Lion. “I look forward to seeing customers experience our expanded assortment and variety throughout the store. My team and are eager to see faces new and old and deliver a great shopping experience for the community.”

Customers can choose from an extensive product assortment, including “grab-and-go” meal options to help make any meal easier, delicious hand-battered fried chicken and 100% USDA Choice fresh beef.

The store also offers a variety of Food Lion’s Nature’s Promise-brand beef, pork, poultry, milk, eggs, bottled water, cereal, coffee and other items. Nature’s Promise is Food Lion’s affordable brand of wholesome and organic products made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or synthetic colors.

Additionally, neighbors can find a wide variety of great local offerings, such as a variety of fresh produce from Norman Farms located in Norman Park, Ga., fresh pork and chicken products from Alma, Ga.’s Lee Corporation and Hardy Farms Peanuts from Hawkinsville, Ga. To help introduce neighbors to the new store, welcome gifts were provided to firefighters at the Jesup Fire Department and Jesup Fire Department Station #2; faculty and staff at James E. Bacon and Martha Rawls Smith Elementary Schools; and staff at Jesup City Hall.

In another commitment to the community, through Food Lion Feeds – the retailer’s hunger-relief initiative – the retailer donated $1,500 to the food pantry at Unity Church of God, an agency of America's Second Harvest of Coastal GA. The church food pantry will also regularly receive food from the new store to distribute to neighbors in need through Food Lion Feeds’ industry-leading food rescue program. Food Lion Feeds has donated the equivalent of nearly 750 million meals since 2014.
