According to Public Affairs Officer Kevin Larson, Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield moved to Health Protection Condition (HPCON) - Charlie today at noon.
Larson said that Major General Tony Aguto,
Commanding General, 3rd Infantry Division and Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield, is working with other commands
and leaders on
Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield to decide what additional
measures, if any, may need to be taken.
"Out of an overabundance of caution, and in a continued
effort to blunt the spread of COVID-19, additional mitigation measures have been
emplaced by the
Army," said Maj. Gen. Aguto. "These measures
include the increased HPCON levels."
Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield has already been observing
almost all recommended measures for HPCON Charlie, based on existing and
standard HPCON
guidance, Larson said.
He added that the change in HPCON is based on the growing number of
positive cases reported throughout the nation, including Georgia, and in the
counties
surrounding Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield.
